Rabindranath
Tagore was the Bengali poet, writer, composer and painter. He was born in 7th
may 1861 in Kolkata, and died at 7th august in 1941 in Jorasako Thakurbari at
Kolkata in India. at the age of 84. His original surname was Kushari.
Education of Rabindranath Tagore
Most of the time he avoided the classrooms. That’s why his father appointed teachers to the house to teach him music gymnastics, anatomy, geography, history and literature. Sanskit mathematics and English was his favorite subjects. His school life spent in presidency college locally. He and his father left Kolkata in 1873 to visit lots of places of India. In this time Rabindranath learned Biographies, History, Astronomy modern science etc .Tagore returned home by completing a set of major works such as Maithili, Vaisnava , Bhikharini, Vidyapathi etc. Rabindranath enrolled in a public school at Brighton in England 1878 to become a Barrister. In 1880 he returned to the Bengal without a degree. He researched European novelty with Brahmo tradition then.
Contributin in Education of Tagore
Between 1877 to 1933 Tagore travelled more than 30 countries. Tagores poetry, dramas, short stories, essays, novels, songs, travelogues has oriented the Bengali literature. He reshaped the Bengali literature in the 19th century. His notable awards is Noble prize in literature at 1913.
Rabindranath at Kuthibari
Shilaidaha Kuthibari is situated in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushhtia District in Bangladesh.The place is famous for kuthibari a country house made by Dwarkanath Tagore. In 1980 Rabindranath started to manage shelaidaha estate. It has built by his father. In Shilaidaha this house was part of Roy Estate till the Zamidari system. Rabindranath stayed here for over a decade.
Rabinranath in Bengali literature
During the staying time of Kuthibari he wrote many of his writings. Some of them are Sonar tori, Chitra,Gitanjali and Geettmalya. In 1912 he started to translate the Gitanjali into English in Shilaidaha Kuthibari. Rabindranath Tagore lived some part of life in this house and created some memorable poems and writings here.
Shilaidaha Kuthibari
Shilaidaha Kuthibari is situated in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushhtia District in Bangladesh.It is a three storied building constructed with bricks timber corrugated tin sheets etc. The house is situated in the middle of the compound. The compound now serves as a museum named 'Tagore memorial museum' And for this he gained the Noble prize in Literature in 1913. The color of this house was red. Till now its color is red. Now it has declared a visitors gallery for the tourist. Actually Rabindranath and Shilaidaha are very close to each other. Here the person has done lot of things to remind him next generations. We can say this The Memorial of Rabindranath.
