Halim

Halim is the popular dish to the Asian people. It varies to region to region. Specially in India the named Halim is the most delicious among the snakes. In some countries of Asia it is also known as street food. As street food Halim is not so hygienic. But if you can make it at home with the same ingredients which are very available, it would be more tasty than the street food. Anyway in spite of this it is most popular street food in South Asian countries.

Main Ingredients of Halim

1.     Wheat.

2.     Barley.

3.     Lentils.

4.     Meat.

Halim Preparation.

Traditionally Halim is made by Firstly soaking barley, wheat and Lentil overnight. The wheat, lentil and barley have to boil with the salt water. Lentil have to boil less than the other two. Then you have to cook the wheat, lentil and barley with the  little turmeric, salt, and curry Masala. The meat of the Halim  have to cook the separately. The curry meat will be in normal curry meat. If you want you can add some extra Garam Masala and extra sprout for the Halim meat. After cooking the Halim and meat curry both have to mix well for the serving. For the serving you can follow the other system. You can take the Dal mixing in the halim bowl then add the meat curry. Both are same test. But in the street Halim the belly of the cow curry is added in the replace of the meat curry.

 

As a street  food Halim is very popular among the Sub-continent people. But is is different from homemade recipe. With the Halim they mix the cow liver cooked in replace of meat curry. They don’t maintain the ratio of ingredients, because they are selling that as commercially.
